World Refugee Day occurs on June 20th and there are two big running events I'd like to talk about. First, there is a 5k in Uganda to support of Refugees, which occurs in a refugee settlement. The 2nd option is the virtual 5k. The virtual 5k benefits refugees through the I was unaware of either event until I got the opportunity to be a part of the virtual 5k and the more I learned; the more I wanted to be a part of something so special! The good news is that we don't have to board a plane to go to Uganda to help. You can run anywhere! Run somewhere new, or hit your favorite spot.
Check out this cool video of the World Refugee Day 5k in Uganda last year that may help you get an understanding of the energy of the runners. The enthusiasm is catching.
Do you like virtual 5ks? This is my first one! At first, I was a little uncertain how this would work or how difficult it would be to become a participant. So if your contemplating the virtual 5k, lets walk through it together.

Listen, every race has some swag and I have seen some good ones but I have way too many t-shirts in a drawer that maybe spark joy enough to save them. The swag for the World Refugee Day Virtual 5k is awesome. You'll get a BOCO Gear hat and if you don't own one, you're in for a treat. Take a peak if you don't believe me...
Hope to see your pics from your virtual 5k!
